Our standard of care

Calm, thoughtful therapy with measurable purpose.

Every session is designed to feel engaging for the child and useful for the family. We look at the whole child, the whole routine, and the communication skills that matter most in daily life.

Engaging and motivating

Therapy is built around your child's interests so practice feels natural, playful, and worth returning to.

Family-centred

Caregivers leave with practical strategies, clear next steps, and language that makes therapy easier to carry into everyday routines.

Strengths-based

We honour neurodiversity, sensory needs, and each child's unique communication style while building meaningful skills.

About Ability Speech

Deep experience, gentle presence, and genuine passion for working with kids.

Cynthia and Katia met by chance in 2001 in Plattsburgh, New York, while attending a preparatory SLP program at the State University of New York. They had an immediate connection and a shared love for the profession. After graduating in 2004, Katia returned to Ontario, while Cynthia moved from Quebec to Ontario, and both began their careers working with children in School-Based Rehab Services. They remained connected and aligned in their intervention styles, and in 2013 they founded Ability Speech.

What to expect

We bring clinician expertise into a space that feels warm, clear, and collaborative. Children get room to be themselves. Parents get a true partner.

01

We begin with understanding.

Assessments help us see your child's communication profile, strengths, needs, and the routines where support will make the biggest difference.

02

We make therapy usable.

Sessions are active, engaging, and paired with strategies that fit real family life, not just the therapy hour.

03

We track progress with care.

Goals are clear, responsive, and refined as your child grows, because effective therapy should evolve with the child.
